The SHIELD gas mask concept was created as a product design study for the Futurological Congress at my university in Ingolstadt. The Intention of this project was to create a film-requisite for the fictive film „The Futurological  Congress“, which is based on the same naming book by Stanislaw Lem.

In the book , gas masks were often used in the future to prevent inhaling toxic medication. Therefore I decided to design the SHIELD. The Goal of my gas mask was to create an intelligent, yet easy and appealing connection to the future of Product and Interaction Design. I implemented a Gas Sensor within the mask, which controlled LED stripes according to the current air condition.

If you want some more information about this product, a whole project documentation (unfortunately only in german) as well as the final Arduino Code is available here.
